Make the exchange easy to understand
A rewarded ad asks the user to give attention in exchange for something useful. Explain the reward before the ad starts, make the action voluntary, and provide a clear way to decline.
The reward should make sense within the product. It might support an optional action, unlock a preview, or extend an experience without turning essential functionality into an obstacle.
Choose the moment carefully
Look for moments when users can pause without losing context. Avoid interrupting a task that requires concentration or presenting an ad as though it were required to continue when it is optional.
- Use a label that describes both the action and the reward.
- Keep the offer visually distinct from navigation and required controls.
- Plan what happens if an ad cannot load or a session is interrupted.
- Make the reward delivery clear when the ad is completed.
Look at the whole journey
Track more than ad starts. An offer can attract attention while still creating frustration later. Review the offer-to-start path, completion, reward delivery, and what users do afterward.
Compare repeat use and feedback alongside revenue. Segmenting by placement or session context can help reveal whether an offer is useful in one moment and intrusive in another.
Improve the offer, not only its visibility
If engagement is low, making the button larger may not address the problem. Consider whether the reward is relevant, the timing is useful, and the explanation is clear. A better exchange can begin with a smaller, more thoughtful change.
